iIn one sentence
It reads the coins you already track in your Portfolio Manager and tells you: are you really spread out, is one coin too big, and how bad would a crash hurt?
01Do this first (2 minutes)
- Put your coins in the Portfolio Manager. The X-Ray reads from there. Add each coin you own with how many units you hold. It's private and lives on your device. Open Portfolio Manager →
- Open the Risk X-Ray. Find it under the Desks menu, or tap the button. Open Risk X-Ray →
- Click "Load my portfolio & scan." It reads your coins and crunches about 90 days of history. Give it a few seconds.
coingecko-id, amount — for example bitcoin, 0.5. Great for a quick test.02Reading each panel — in plain words
Portfolio at a glance
Six simple scorecards. The two that matter most:
- Real bets — you might hold 10 coins, but if they all move together they're really only, say, 3 different bets. Higher is more truly spread out.
- Top position — how big your single largest coin is. If one coin is 40% of everything, one bad day on that coin hurts a lot. Green is calmer, red means "very concentrated."
- Avg correlation — how in-sync your coins move (0 = independent, 1 = they move as one). High = you're less diversified than it looks.
- Portfolio vol — how wild the ride is. Beta to BTC — how much your book moves when Bitcoin moves (1.5 means it swings 1.5× as much).
What to watch
Plain-English warnings pulled from your numbers — e.g. "you hold 10 coins but they move like ~2 bets," or "this small position carries a big share of your risk." Red = pay attention; amber = note it.
Position breakdown & sizing
A table of every coin with three important columns:
- Weight — how much of your money is in it.
- Risk share — how much of your risk it carries. If a coin is 10% of your money but 30% of your risk, it's punching above its size (shown in amber).
- Balanced target — a reference: what its size would be if every coin carried equal risk. A guide, not an order.
How together do they move? (the color grid)
Each square shows how two coins move together. Red = they rise and fall as one (little protection). Green = they move independently (good spread). Blue means one tends to zig when the other zags.
Crash stress test
"If Bitcoin falls 10 / 30 / 50%, here's roughly how your whole book moves — in percent and in dollars." It turns a vague fear into a real number you can prepare for.
Unlock Watch (beta)
Some tokens release big batches of new supply on a schedule, which can push the price down. This panel gives each of your coins a one-tap link to its live unlock schedule so you're never blindsided. (Inline alerts are coming.)
03How to actually use it
- Run it monthly, and before any big buy. Risk creeps up quietly — a monthly check catches it.
- If "real bets" is low, you're concentrated even if you own many coins. Consider whether you truly want that.
- If one coin's risk share dwarfs its weight, that single coin is driving your outcome — size it on purpose, not by accident.
- Look at the worst stress number and ask: "Could I stomach that? Do I have a plan if it happens?" If not, that's your signal to trim or set exits.
