CHAPTER 5 · PRACTICE WITHOUT RISK

Charts & Paper Trading

A whole room where you can trade all day and lose nothing. You practice with pretend money on real, live prices — then you watch two disciplined robot traders work, so you learn what patience looks like before you risk a cent. These are Members-only tools: the money is simulated (no real funds ever), but using the desks requires a membership.

5.0First — what is a "paper trade"?

A paper trade is a practice trade. You use pretend money against the real, live price of a coin. If your trade would have made money, your practice balance goes up; if it would have lost, it goes down. Nothing real moves — no wallet, no bank, no coins. It's a flight simulator for trading.

Everything here risks no real money — the balances are simulated. But the Chart & Desk, MAZAKA and Lasirèn are Members-only features; you'll need a membership to actually use them. Before we open the room, here are the seven words you'll meet inside. Learn them once and the rest is easy.

WordPlain meaning
CandleOne little bar on a chart. It shows a coin's price over a slice of time (say one hour): where it opened, closed, and its high and low. Green = closed up, red = closed down.
Order bookThe live list of everyone's buy offers and sell offers stacked by price. It shows where demand and supply sit right now.
BlotterYour logbook of trades — an old trading-desk word. Every practice trade you place lands here as a row.
StopA safety exit. "If the price falls to this, close me out" — it caps how much a trade can lose.
TargetA profit exit. "If the price rises to this, take my winnings and close." The opposite of a stop.
P&LProfit & Loss — how much a trade (or your whole book) is up or down. Green is good, red is not.
Long / ShortLong = you Buy, betting the price goes up. Short = you Sell first, betting it goes down.
WHY PRACTICE FIRSTThe order of this whole site is Learn → Practice → Act. This chapter is Practice. You never need real money or a wallet — every balance is simulated — but the practice desks are Members-only, so you'll need a membership to use them.
WHO CAN USE WHATAnyone — free accounts included — can read this chapter to see exactly how the practice room works. Using the Chart & Desk, MAZAKA and Lasirèn requires a membership. The one thing that's free to watch is the read-only MAZAKA showcase at /mazaka-trader. Everything here uses simulated money — no real funds, ever.

5.1Chart & Desk — the practice cockpit

The Chart & Desk is where you look at a coin's chart, get a read from the agents, and place practice trades. Three things stack down the page: the chart up top, the paper ticket where you place trades, and the blotter that logs them. Let's tour the cockpit, then walk one clean trade end to end.

  6. Recipe card + AGWE verdict — the chosen strategy's recipe ("→ Load into ticket") and a long/short/neutral call with a 0–100 score.
  7. The paper ticket — Buy or Sell, Quantity, Limit price, optional Stop & Target, then Place paper trade. Your practice account starts at $10,000.
  8. The blotter — every trade you place, with time, symbol, side, qty@entry, stop/target and live P&L, plus CLOSE / remove and a reset-book link.
  9. Agent trades — the agents' own paper trades, read-only. Paid members get ▶ buttons to fire MAZAKA / SNAKE / LIBO / EZILI picks into paper mode.

Your first paper trade — the happy path

Six short steps. You cannot lose real money doing this, so relax and click around — once you're signed in as a member.

  1. Pick a coin. Tap a chip like BTC, or type a name in the search box. Its live chart loads with the EMA lines drawn on.
  2. Choose your side. In the paper ticket, click Buy (long) if you think the price will rise, or Sell (short) if you think it will fall.
  3. Set the size and price. Type a Quantity (how much) and a Limit price — this is already filled with the live mark, so you can leave it. Optionally add a Stop (your safety exit) and a Target (your profit exit).
  4. Place it. Click Place paper trade. It drops into the blotter below as a new row. Your $10,000 practice account now tracks its open profit or loss.
  5. Watch it breathe. As the real price moves, the row's P&L turns green (winning) or red (losing) live. This is the lesson — feel how a real position moves.
  6. Close to book the result. Click CLOSE on the row to lock in that profit or loss. Want a clean slate? Use the reset book link to set everything back to $10,000.
SHORTCUT: USE SUGGESTEDDon't want to fill the ticket by hand? Pick a strategy, glance at the AGWE verdict, then tap Use suggested — it pre-fills side, quantity, stop and target from the recipe. Read it, adjust if you like, and place.
YOUR TRADES STAY ON YOUR DEVICEEvery practice trade is stored only in your own browser (localStorage) — not on our servers. Clearing your browser data or switching devices starts you fresh. Nothing here touches a wallet or a bank.
PAPER ONLYThe Chart & Desk never places a real order and never spends real money. It's a simulator. Real trades happen only later, in your own wallet — see Chapter 6.

5.2MAZAKA — watch a disciplined robot trade

MAZAKA is a robot paper-trader that puts capital preservation first. You don't press anything — you study it. It runs a monthly cycle holding three paper positions (one small-cap, one mid-cap, one large-cap), risks only 1% per trade, and halts the moment it draws down 10%. It's a live lesson in patience.

  1. KPI strip — cycle id, win rate, alpha vs peers, realized P&L, number of trades, and when the cycle ends.
  2. Three project cards — the one low-, mid- and high-cap it's holding: symbol, market cap, narrative, strategy, plus "Open on TradingView" and "Download Pine" links.
  3. Peer-alpha table — how every agent is doing, ranked by return above the pack. See who's earning their keep.
  4. Live paper desk — equity, net P&L, win rate, expectancy, profit factor and max drawdown at a glance.
  5. Discipline metrics — max drawdown is watched closely; hit −10% and a red HALTED banner appears and it stops trading.
  6. Journal + matrix + log — a trade journal with the "why" of each trade, a learning matrix, and a full activity log.
WHY 1% AND WHY IT HALTSRisking just 1% per trade means no single loss can hurt much. Halting at −10% is the circuit-breaker every disciplined trader needs but few actually use. Watching MAZAKA obey its own rules teaches the hardest skill in trading: stopping.
MEMBERS-ONLY — AND A FREE PEEKThe full MAZAKA page at /mazaka is a Members-only tool (all simulated money, no real funds). Everyone — including free accounts — can watch a read-only MAZAKA showcase at /mazaka-trader to see how it works before joining.
READ-ONLYMAZAKA is a window, not a control panel. You can't steer it and it isn't advice — it's a study exhibit of what capital-preservation-first looks like in practice.

5.3Lasirèn — the desk scoreboard

Lasirèn is a read-only scoreboard for the desk's paper-trade bridge. It's a clean window on the numbers — no buttons to press. A status pill up top reads "Bridge live · paper" when connected, or "offline" when it isn't. No real funds are ever involved.

The Lasirèn scoreboard at /lasiren
  1. Status pill — "Bridge live · paper" (connected) or "offline". It tells you if the numbers are updating.
  2. Equity + total trades — the practice account's current value and how many trades it has made.
  3. Period P&L + sparkline — profit for day, week, month and year-to-date, with a tiny equity curve.
  4. Stats — win rate, average win/loss, Sharpe ratio (return per unit of risk), and max drawdown.
  5. Open positions — each live trade with its mark and unrealized P&L, updating on the live price.
  6. Recent fills — the latest trades the bridge has executed, newest at the top.
A WINDOW, NOT A PANELThere is nothing to click on Lasirèn — no place trade, no close, no reset. It exists purely to show you what a running paper desk's health looks like: steady equity, a sane drawdown, a win rate above chance.
MEMBERS-ONLYLasirèn at /lasiren is a Members-only tool. The bridge only ever runs on simulated money — no real funds are involved — but you'll need a membership to open the scoreboard.
